Spiritual Ego

Keep it a secret, keep it safe, you need to even keep it a secret from your self. When you know some thing then always remember to forget it. To me the most important element of tapping into the universal knowledge is to not try to hold on to this energy or you might be in danger of becoming old before your time.

This is a very common theme with many people I see in my world and now many teachers from around the world are looking for guidance because they have become their worst nightmare. They cannot get out of the character of being a teacher and this can dry up one's creativity and this is a subtle art.

If you are one of those people, then I want to remind you that it’s OK you have dedicated much of your life to understanding an authentic part of your self and this has been an important part of your character development but be warned don’t try to stay in character, this can be very dangerous. I believe Heath Ledger (Dark Knight) played with this dangerous mix of imagination which ultimately led him to his death.

If you are in the authentic character of being a role model or teacher then that’s fine, but don’t stay on the set all day in character, Health Ledger was reportabled to been on set all day in character and everyone of his friends were very concerned. Jack Nicholson also warned him of the dangers of playing this role.

What helps me tremendously is a costume. When I put on my bandana or a special pair of pants then I am transformed. Then after this performance I am able to step out of this role very easily. If you think of Batman and his out fit, he only puts it on when he goes out into the world and then he is instantly transformed into a half MAN half BAT.

This is the reason why I studied Performance at University. I wanted to understand the mysterious art of performance. When I talk about performance I am talking about an authentic performance and this is now why I love to share with you these blogs.
