Some people chase money for power, others for material possessions but for me money can be an empowering tool that allows us to breath life into new creative projects and I really think about what and where I spend this colored paper.
I am naturally conscious of what I spend my money on, after all it is made from trees, the lungs of the earth, so you are breathing life into the community that you spend your money in. For example today as I sit and write this Blog, I am in the Free Bird Café which donates 100% profits to Thai Freedom House, a school that teachers indigenous hill tribe and Shan Burmese refugees. These two minority groups don’t get the same opportunities as Thai people and don’t have the same human right status while living in Thailand.
My needs are simple, I spend my time online Mentoring people in the Dragongate Universe - The Game that helps people to cultivate their own personal supply of universal energy and people support my life to be able to do this. I believe that I am being supported because I am aware of where I spend my money and where I put my focus. Money is an exchange of energy, so I think of where do I want to put my energy.
The other 2 places I spend my time online are community based projects as well. Tian Zi Tea House is an organization protecting forest and hill tribe communities in China and they have the most beautiful restaurant here in Chiang Mai. The other is Pun Pun restaurant which is located in the Famous University for monks and nuns - Watt Suan Dok.
Now this is the most community conscious restaurant I have ever seen. They have the most amazing organic dishes for $2, yes, it’s true, so the amazing thing about the restaurant is it’s situated in a temple and the table surround a Spirit tree which you might have seen before in Thailand. They are the trees that have lots of colored material around them; you could compare them to the sacred trees in Avatar. The Thai believe that they hold some sort of special natural magic and I would have to agree.
Now Pun Pun is very special, they have an organic seed saving farm about 45 minutes out of Chiang Mai which runs community based courses teaching people how to live and grow their foods in harmony with the natural surrounding. Also the amazing thing about their restaurant is the locals can enjoy the same food as the westerners, basically they are the same prices as the local food - but one very BIG difference they are organic.
Please I beg you to pay attention to what you spend your money on and when you hand over that money feel the goodness you have when you know you are directly affecting the growth of that community. I believe now community currency is the next BIG thing and it all starts with one person at a time.
