Whereever we travel we carry our home with us and we are the center of the universe. These are common terms I have heard from time to time but in Qi Gong what does this mean to be in our centre and how do we bring this into our life so that we are not affected by other people’s negativity around us?
Ok well first we need to become aware of the alignment of our spine and when the natural posture is correct then the energy can flow through the energy gates or chakras running through the spine and central nervous system. There are seven gate/chakras and they are of primary importance in understanding Tao Yoga, Qi Gong and Meditation.
If you are practicing Qi Gong or any meditation this central alignment is really important, especially if you have started one of the 35 Day Qi Gong Challenges. The E-Navigator Meditation works on getting this centre as well. In the Tai Qi world they refer this as the Taiji Pole and this is like the north and south poles that keep the earth aligned. This central pole runs from the crown of the head and out through the base of the spine.
When you become aware of this alignment you will be able to feel what it’s like to be centered and balanced. This alignment in Qi Gong development will save you many years of playing in the dark. It is the core of Meditation and all other forms of moving meditation.
So start to imagine this from the crown of the head which connects us to the energy from the stars and it runs through the central nervous system and out through the base of the spine to connect us to the earth energies. In this central alignment we get a real sense of what all the Tai Qi Masters talk about and I always think of the middle of the hurricane as a great analogy. The centre or the eye of the Hurricane is calm and still but the out side is turbulent, powerful and destructive and so can we be if we are not centered and aligned with the universal energies.
When we can become aware of our centre of the energetic body then we are not moved so much by other people’s emotional turmoil. We can be in a more neutral emotional state and in this state we are able to think clearly and respond rather then react, just check now for the next 5 minutes how are you sitting, what is the alignment of your spine, and if you want to know more, then join in on the 35 Qi Day Challenge.
