Let me share with you some secrets into the World of Well Being. Many people find it hard to keep a consistent practice and often get into a vicious circle of ohhh… I cannot find the time or there isn’t enough space in the house.
Ok so you have a beautiful Qi Gong or Dao Yoga form that you have learned some where on your computer or at a class. The first point is to create an area, a special place a sacred space. Put down a nice Persian Rug, have some candles or some inspiring symbolic ornaments that are really special to you, or practice next to your favorite tree in your local park.
When you walk into this space, I want you to feel amazing, I want you to be excited about the world that waits you to explore from with-in. Also you need to find some clothes that you only wear for meditation and Qi Gong. With my many years of studying Performance in University I observed that a well trained actor or performer will always have a specific costume and when they put these clothes on, a transformation into character happens naturally.
So you have created a sacred space, you have the comfortable loose clothes and you have the technique, now you need to find a time in the day that suits your schedule. Now this is where a lot of people miss the point, print out the schedule and place it in your sacred space, put it in a place where you can see it every day. For me I like to practice in the morning before sunrise and after, midday and sunset, these are my most favorable times.
I know some of you reading this have families, careers and find it hard to fit it in, but I am talking about 30-60 minutes a day not 5 hours a day. Create two alternative times on your schedule and if you miss the morning then no problems practice in the evening. Don’t beat your self around the head if you miss a day, in this world you are the master. But to really get an understanding of this well being program you need to keep it up for a minimum of three months. After 90-100 days it is said in the ancient Qi Gong books that if you can practice without missing a day then you will never be sick again. I can say from experience that this true, I only get sick once a year.
To be continued…
